Garment Construction
This course helps students to understand techniques in garment making. It exposes students to the core topics like basic garment making, sewing technology, fabric analysis, pattern drafting skills, fabric and garment finishing etc. it enables students to be up-to-date with changing trends in fashion industry. This course is designed to teach you the art of tailoring beautiful fashion from the basics to the final product. Hence, all you need is your creativity! Through our garment making courses, we shall enhance your skill such that you can design and stitch shirts, skirts, pants, tops, blouses, and so much more! Our trainers will train you to gain modern-comprehensive sewing techniques that enables you stand unique and independent in the design industry. Once you finish this course, you will be able to fit patterns to your body, choose the correct size, and stitch together garments that you like and that fit you well.
Entrepreneurship & Business Plan Development
At Ida’s ideas, we believe that having a skill only is not enough to sell or market your products or services to the competitive fashion industry. Entrepreneurial education and training provide individuals with the ability to recognize commercial opportunities, self- esteem, knowledge and skills to act on them. It includes instruction in opportunity recognition, commercializing a concept, managing resources, and initiating innovation through business ventures. These skills gained will initiate business disciplines such as management, marketing, information systems and finance. Developing a business plan serve as a guide to your business journey and gives individual a sense of direction towards reaching their vision and achieving their goals.
Fashion Illustration
This course is designed with the intention to teach students how to sketch or draw fashion figures. It aims on the basic understanding of top-to-bottom body elements, posture, movement to fashion poses along with garment, and head proportions. This course is important for students pursuing fashion design skills to better equipped them and make them well-grounded in their career.
Through fashion illustration, students get to study and comprehend topics such as human anatomy, figure drawing, different drawing methods, painting, portfolio development, and computer aided designs in the advance diploma level.
Computer Aided Design
Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the use of computer technology for the process of design development/collection development. CAD reduces the requirement of manual sketching which is very crucial for fashion sketches, flat drawing, pattern making development, manual marker planning and many other fashion designing related aspects. Using CAD software, a fashion designer can create new sketches, patterns, prints more quickly and precisely. With the increasing use of CAD, fashion designers can create multiple variations of a single design and style and adapt it to varying material and pattern.
Portfolio Development
The Fashion Portfolio Design Development course is designed for those who want to work for a big or complex fashion business but do not know how to impress. This course is meant to help students creating exclusive designs to enable them stand uniquely in the industry.
It aims exclusively to choose, plan and design sketches that you can show to the companies, competitors, customers, and other stakeholders. You will develop a personal method of freehand drawing, and you will study the various coloring techniques, using the hand and computer aided design. A fashion portfolio can also be explained as an assortment of creative fashion samples/collections place by the designer to point out his/her skills to a prospective leader or fashion faculty.
Fashion & Design Development
This module starts by giving students an in-depth view of the international fashion design industry. It explains the roll of a fashion designer and points out the key skills of be obtained for an individual to become a qualified fashion designer. This module involved intensive research on the history of fashion design and how it started. This course enables students to absorb both the technical and foundational design skills that are integral in preparing students for careers in apparel design. Students will equally be exposed to the creativity and innovative skills that a fashion designer has within themselves which includes the theoretical knowledge and its importance, creating art and using DIY methods to recycle used elements to make new and trendy clothing and accessories.
