Life on Campus
We are steadily expanding and improving our training curriculum to the latest marked demands. The atmosphere on campus is very energetic, creative and inspiring. We have policy in place that encourages our students to collaborate and experiment with their designs in either one-to-one or with small or medium groups training sessions with their trainers. However, the workload is very intensive and as a result, students sometimes work in an informal setting to complete tasks projects.

Ida's Ideas strives to make our students very creative and critical thinkers to help invent an unimaginable designs that put smiles on the face of people. We stand against copycat syndromes at any cost. thus, our aim is always to turn ideas into realities.

Ida's Ideas aims to empower thousands of youths by equipping them with marketable skills and knowledge they need to lead lives of dignity, purpose, and economic stability. Our approach involves engaging young people who are also the least likely to have access to mainstream education and training, including girls, young people with courage to effect changes, and youths engaged in hazardous journey to Europe

How it all Started
Ida’s Ideas Institute has been established by Ida Saine Conteh and her daughter, Chan Mendy in 2018. Ida’s Ideas Fashion & Design Training Institute prides itself in actively creating a premier fashion academy that will transform the face of fashion education, primary through career-focused creative education. Being the leading and proud home of fashion designers in the Gambia, Ida’s Ideas always believed and geared its efforts to train and empower women and youths in West Africa by educating them with marketable skills to penetrate the fashion industry and position them to be successful fashion designers (Fashionistas) and future entrepreneurs. As a progressive fashion institute, it strongly subscribed to gender equity in fashion education/industry and works every moment to become excellent representative in the whole country. In Its strong believed in turning ideas into realities and applying them in everything it does, this is where the name “Ida’s Ideas” came from.
With nearly four years’ experience in standard-professional & well-accredited fashion education, Ida’s Ideas is proud to have trained over 200 students in Fashion Design & Garment Construction Certificate Course presently. It has also set an excellent facility to train students in diploma program, which has started in February 2020. Ida’s Ideas inclusive and diverse workspace is designed to continue pushing, promoting, and elevating the face of fashion education, nook and cranny across the country. It is a fashion institute that captures the heart of anyone it meets; our dynamic team which comprises of the list of who is who expertise, is ever committed to improve our solid efforts to create efficient and equitable access to fashion education where creativity and innovation are promoted.
